Just reading up on the new Lowrance Endura Outback. This new unit available in May has some pretty cool features and I think just may be able to give Garmin a good run. The new OutBack model is the base unit can hold 2000 waypoints, and do paperless caching up to 3000caches. 42 channel receiver and features a touch screen. The Colorado and Oregon only hold 1000 waypoints the base model (Outback) will sell for $245 CDN $150 cheaper than the the Colorado 300. Looks pretty interesting.
After my experience with customer service with Magellen, it is a priority for me. So far the customer service with Lowrance has not been good. Every question i have e-mailled has come back with a vague answer or not answered at all. Not a good start as far as i can tell. Caching up a Storm In Northern BC
I think Garmin is simply eons ahead in many aspects, particularly mapping (i.e- many free maps made by the multitude of Garmin owners) and probably the geocaching mode as well (i.e.- sending the entire PQ of 500 caches directly to the unit). It would be nice to compare the two, though so I think PBA should get one. They ARE more affordable than Garmin at least.
So true MalliBooBoo. Don't get me wrong I love my Garmin.I almost went from Colorado to Oregon.Touch screen just wasn't enough to make me switch. But if Lowrance is all that they say,I will buy one. Well lookie here, not another FTF!!!!!!
